Webinar: How to Get Your Feature Off the Ground
Time & Location
About the Event
As the DIY film community that's got your back, we are committed to staying connected during this challenging time. While we are observing the mandate to physically distance, we want to keep in touch socially, creatively, and professionally. So, while our in-person workshops are dark, we will be holding virtual meet ups and workshops via Zoom.
This afternoon we’re going to have a webinar on HOW TO GET YOUR FEATURE OFF THE GROUND presented by NY based creative and producer Jess Weiss (IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4457467/)! Jess has over 10 years of experience producing feature films, fiction and documentary, commercials, branded campaigns, social, corporate videos, theatre, immersive, experiential and live events.
Are you a short film filmmaker and you're ready to take on a real feature? Then join us for this conversation with producer Jess Weiss, as she talks about her experience in independent features, common mistakes by first time feature filmmakers, how to make your script more affordable and a brief overview on questions about scheduling and different SAG agreements to prepare you to take the leap.
The presenter will use examples of her work to illustrate the moving parts for the following:
- What does a Producer Do?
- How to get your film from Development to Pre-Production?
- Common Mistakes
- SAG-AFTRA agreements
