This was such a special project! I got to produce in Brazil after a decade of living in the US, with some of my favorite crew from both countries! It was wonderful to navigate the exuberant locations in Rio, along my favorite collaborators. Even from bidding, as we received the idea of The World of Color, I knew exactly where we'd shoot, from a beauty and logistics standpoint. I'm glad the team bought into the idea, and this is the Behind The Scenes of our project.

As we wrap out 2023 - I wanted to share the project I’m most proud of from this past year. It may be small, but it means a lot to me.
Below is our first attempt at an audio description of one of our videos (so please be gentle in the comments). I’m proud of this video and our team taking this step. If you aren’t familiar with audio description, it is the verbal depiction of key visual elements in media and live productions. Audio description allows people who are blind or have low vision to imagine the scenes in the video as they happen. Audio description typically appears in movies and TV shows, but we wanted to take a pass at it.
Being able to show representation authentically is always at the top of our minds in our productions. I know we have a lot to learn, but we have to start somewhere. Here is a behind-the-scenes video of one of our Onboard Welcomes that we filmed in Rio earlier this year. There were a lot of players in this project, but I wanted to share a big thank you to Laura Nichols Rea and Drake Springer for guiding this production! And a huge thank you to Dana Folsom and Tom Holton for helping get this one over the finish line.
